I'm the newbie on the block of married couples. So is hubby. We kinda saw it coming - just that we have no idea how things would turn out once we started living together.

Now, we are finally living together.

We have to get used to each other's little quirks, habits and temperaments. We have to get used to the fact that yes, we've each acquired an additional pair of parents and siblings and their offsprings. And since property prices are waaaaaayyyy to high and unaffordable, and that we want to spend equal amount of time with our respective biological parents, we are living with them (its complicated so I'll save you ur grey matter). Economically its a little less expensive than if we were to own a place of our own, but of course it will come with some practical inconveniences. Like having to store two sets of clothes: One set at his parents, and another at mine. Everything has to come in pairs. If only we can clone ourselves so that our cloned selves can be with the other set of parents at the same time - now wouldnt that be perfect?

A lot of rationalisation kicks in these day - the need to ask the main purpose and intention of doing something became more eminent as we realise that there is now a need to answer to a lot more people for our actions (yeah - not just our parents okay). Every immediate family member we have has to adjust themselves as a result of our newly acquired identities and arrangements. We also have to switch on our grey matter to constantly manage the expectations of everyone around us. Now you know why its so tiring for newly weds!

Take my word - Marriage is certainly not a union of two individuals. It is definitely a union of two families.
