We went to attend Rachel and Chee Keen wedding on 18 May at Gallery Hotel. It was a small luncheon for family and close friends, over a mix of chinese and western buffet. We left before the event was over, but found out from the bride later that the groom was roaring drunk the whole wedding night, so much so that the bride hardly slept.
Ok, the bride recounted the entire event through MSN and wanted me to put this in on the drunk groom:-
" After you left, the groom was already drunk and he went around hugging everyone, including the operations and banquet managers. We took a drive out with the brothers, and the brothers and I had to try to hold him down so that he would stop hugging and kissing his brothers who are taking the wheel. When we return, he was running around hugging everyone, including my sisters who helped out at the wedding. The brothers were cursing and swearing at him for this hugging frenzy. He was so drunk that he stepped into the bathroom, fully clothed, and his brothers had to strip him down to his briefs before he ruin the suit. When he turned out he shower tap, he was still in his briefs and his brothers had to yell at him "Oi, take off your briefs lah!". After his shower, he continued his hugging frenzy and eventually, collapsed on the hotel bed and slept through to 10pm. He woke up 6 times in between intervals from 4pm to 10pm to vomit. I (the bride) had to boil water 3 times to provide enough drinking water coz he was complaining that he's very thirsty."
Today marks our 1 year anniversary since we are legally registered as husband and wife. Unfortunately, hubby is
away for a month on reservist this time and we can't go out to celebrate our first ROM anniversary together. However, he's quite sweet to drop me a call to bid me happy anniversary (*awwwwwww* so sweet). On his side, it was rather eventful day coz he was left behind by his fleet in the camp. HAHAHA.. what boo boo on their part. Anyway, hopefully they return for him... else I think they should fly him back soon .. bwahahahah!
P/s: Hubby just sent me a cookie jar of plants...
This is a Chinese Baby Gender Predictor. Its supposed to be quite accurate. :-) Can use this for planning purpose.

Our wedding on 25 June 07 went on well - with a few bloopers but thats okay. It was an eventful day with everyone running around to help ensure that our wedding is a success. On recount, I had only slept 1 hour while my two other girlfriends who had slept over also hardly caught any wink. Ended up all three of us were in a dazed the entire day. Hubby on the other hand also hardly slept a wink. Last minute preparation ended too late at his end, as his parents were also down with diarrhea after eating some food that might have been contaminated. My parents also slept around 3 am due to the last minute preps for the hair combing ceremony etc. My sis was really kind to have woken up early to help film my hair combing ceremony. Thanks zillions Joyce for doing that for me! :-)
Everyone had their share of fun and our friends and family really went all way out to help us. Thank you brothers and sisters, our best friends, who had jumped in to help when we needed them most. Nothing could express our gratitude for all the help rendered. Special thanks to (not in sequence):
1- Ivy who had stepped up to coordinate while Dino and Louise were busy ushering the Lim family guests.
2- Rachel, Zoe and Henri who had risked their lives blocking the door and went through the trouble to find my place (its not that easy to locate btw). Henri again, for agreeing to help host the event for us together with TY. Great work girl!
3- Chloe and HL who took half day to help out at the wedding reception, and helping to set up the place.
4- TY who had graciously agreed to be our MC, fixed up our emcee script and hosted the event for us - Gosh that was a really professionally done emcee work. Somebody grab this guy!
5- BK, HF, TH who had risked their lives protecting the groom and trying ways to get him past the door in the morning, offering chauffeur service where required, and trying to keep the groom out of all the gory details at reception.
6- Terence, my niece's and nephew's godfather who had slept early to make sure that he get to my place in time for photoshoot, and for offering his photography services for free. We thank you for flying back for our wedding and keeping my girlfriends entertained with his charms.... hehe
7- Angela Park who called all the way from Korea to send her well wishes. Thank you. Sorry I was not able to answer your call.
And to all those who had sacrificed time and money to help us - a big thank you!
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all our friends and colleagues who had attended our wedding, for not being able to take table photos with them due to time constraints. Our focus has always been to ensure our guests are able to retire early to prepare for the next working/schooling day. Unfortunately the decision for phototaking was only determined halfway through the wedding dinner and time was already running out, and there are close to 40 tables on hald. Please accept our sincere apologies for not being able to accomodate to everyone's request.
Subsequent to the wedding, I also learnt that there were some misunderstandings in the background that resulted in some unhappiness between friends at the wedding reception. For some reasons which I do not wish to discuss here, Hubby and I were really concerned and actually lost sleep over them on our wedding night and the days that followed. We were sorry that such things happened though we also know that both parties meant well and had no intentions of creating any animosity. Nonetheless, we are glad that the matter has been resolved amicably and both parties have become friends and agreed to meet up for dinner.
Once again, thank you so much for being there to celebrate our matrimony with us.
Its exactly 28 days to the actual wedding day today. Here's what we've achieved so far:

15- Taking leave for wedding and honeymoon - all done! :-D
Okay, we're still hanging in there! :-D
Six weeks to go before actual day. To date, we have managed to secure the guest list, thanks to friends who had promptly replied to our informal invitations. The rooms at our parents are almost ready for renovation with approx 90% packed to make way for contractors to come in. Our families have been supportive thus far. Giving their advice and making suggestions on how we can make things better and rendering all sorts of help. That really touched our hearts. The other important group of people are friends who gladly agreed to take time off to help us knowing that our actual day falls on monday. Thanks heaps folks! Wont know what to do without you guys. Lets give it our best shot that day and have lots of fun! Perhaps its because of everyone's help, that made me feel less tensed. Hope things will be smooth till the wedding is over! :-)
We've started getting the renovation contractors to come down and take measurements for the rooms that are to be renovated. We've got two contractors helping us with the renovations. One at hubby's place, and another at mine. Hubby is having minor works so the only issue I raised was the colour of the furniture in his room. It was baby blue turned dusty. I was hoping that he'd change to walnut or chocolate but he was afraid that it might darken the room.
For me, three bedrooms (including mine) at my place is getting renovated. There will be a fair bit of work to be done within 1 mth becoz of relocation of power points, etc. I've gotten part of the designs sorted out - including the colour of the cabinets and doors. Now the main thing is to pack up the things into boxes and clear the old furnitures so that they can be removed or relocated.
Whew! So much to be done!
Our cards are in the process of being printed, and photo albums would be ready sometime end of May 07. The Guo Da Li stuff have to be purchased, and we have to arrange for our beds to be delivered...
We're hanging in there...!!!
We've finally went down to the bridal shop to select our photos. Our strategy was to have a first cut selection before we select a few rounds to take the best of the photos for the album. To our surprise, the indoor shots turned out to be better than the outdoor ones, and the photographer we've appointed failed to deliver what we've expected him to do. Quite disappointed actually. You should see the face of the owner of the shop. Out of the enture stack (anout 2-3 inches thick) we've only managed to pick out 24 pieces in the first round selection for the album. She tried to coerce us into picking more, but since the photos were not quite up to our expection - we decided to give the rest a miss and stick to 24 pieces full page album.
We've picked our cards from the hotel and proceed to arrange for the inserts to be printed. The draft of the wordings came back today and we're just about to revert to the printers.
In a nutshell, we're now down to the following items:
- purchase train tickets in UK & change money for the trip
- collect wedding albums
- have the rooms renovated to accomodate to the additional person in each of our lives
- have the bed and mattress delivered after the renovations are done
- purchase things for An Chuang and Guo Da Li
- get down to the wedding banquet details
More to go! We just gotta hang in there and enjoy while it last... :p JIA YOU!
We've just been informed that the banquet manager who'd served us and closed our deal has just left Merchant Court. A new male manager will be taking over to serve us in about a month's time all the way till our actual day. It appears that Louis has left for Fullerton. We had a pleasant time having him serve us, so we really hope that his successor will be equally good if not better.
